Who is Real Warri Pikin?
My names are Anita Alaire Asuoha known as Real Warri Pikin is a happy woman who is trying to inspire the world with her talent. It took me a long time to find myself, now that I have discovered who I was born to be; I am here to make the world a happy place.
How has your journey so far, in the entertainment industry gone?
I think my journey so far has been smooth and amazing. The love and support I am getting from both fans and celebrities I look up to is greatly overwhelming.
Did you always want to be a comedy performer?
Hmmm…I think I have always been funny but I never knew I would end up being a comedian. I found myself and then I discovered that God has always created me to be a comedian.
When did you realize that people found you funny?
It has always been a thing with me. I believe I was born with the comedy inside of me but it took life to birth it inside of me.
When did the big break come for you?
My big break into the industry came when I shared my story about depression and how I almost took my own life. That was when a lot of people began to connect with me and my contents.
As a female entertainer, how do you feel in a male dominated industry?
I don’t really see it as a male dominated industry because there are a lot of females doing amazing in the industry before I got in. Everyone is unique in their own way so we are all trying to contribute our own quota to the industry.
What challenges do you face-creating contents?
I think the only challenge there is was when I started out, I was trying to create contents for standup comedy and a lot of my senior colleagues tried to stereotype me into a certain direction and how to create my contents.
I create most of my contents from my personal experiences and no one can tell you how to tell your story better than you.
What are your worst moments as a comedian?
I am yet to have a worst moment as a comedian because every day is a new experience to get better at the craft.
Do people in your life ever ask you not talk about them in your jokes?
Not at all, I have the best husband in the world who supports me 100% and would sometimes give me ideas on what to say and how to say it. Everyone has accepted me the way I am and willing to support me and my chosen career.
Work and family, how do you balance both at the same time?
It’s not been easy but I am trying to balance work and family. When I am working, work is the only thing on my mind and when I am with family; family is the only thing on my mind.
What comedy adventures do you have planned for the near future?
I intend to tour the world performing my own solo comedy live shows on some of the world’s biggest stages.
December is a busy month for me and my team as we have shows in Dubai and ‘Real Warri Pikin Live in Senegal.’
