A statue of the anti-apartheid South African hero Nelson Mandela has been unveiled at the United Nations.
Deputy Secretary-General of the UN Amina Mohammed shared photos from the unveiling on her Twitter.
The statue was unveiled during the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, she revealed, writing:
A statue of a truly global & #african hero #NelsonMandela unveiled at the @UN.
His legacy of fighting for peace, justice & prosperity lives on. #UNGA
