Broadcast journalist, radio presenter, and media creative Daniel Adaaja, popularly known as DanPowerTouch, has been announced as a nominee for The Future Awards Africa Prize for On-Air Personality 2025, in recognition of his remarkable impact and contribution to Nigeria’s broadcast industry.
Daniel currently co-hosts Blast Rise on Blast FM 98.3 Ibadan, one of the city’s most engaging and fast-rising morning show. Over the years, he has built a reputation for using his platform to inform, entertain, and inspire, while fostering intelligent and inclusive conversations that reflect the realities of everyday Nigerians. His signature interviewing style and compelling storytelling have earned him a loyal audience base and positioned Blast Rise as a flagship program on the station.
Beyond his work on air, Daniel is the founder of The Radio Room; a platform dedicated to empowering radio presenters and podcasters through knowledge-sharing, training sessions, and lives events. Since its launch, The Radio Room has become a hub for broadcasters seeking mentorship, skill development, and community support — bridging the gap between traditional radio and the fast-growing world of digital audio.
Speaking on his nomination, Daniel shared:
“This nomination is more than an achievement for me; it’s a reflection of every listener, collaborator, and creative who believes in the power of radio to educate, connect, and inspire. I’ve always believed that great radio isn’t just about sound — it’s about substance, storytelling, and service. I’m truly honored to be recognized among incredible young Africans shaping the future of media.”
Over the past year, Daniel’s work has continued to expand beyond broadcasting. Through his media consultancy, he has helped brands and organizations strengthen their storytelling strategies and build meaningful audience connections. He also launched new initiatives under The Radio Room banner, including live events, workshops, and podcast episodes that highlight the voices behind the mic.
His selection for the Managing Conflict in Today’s Newsroom program organized by the Aga Khan University and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (2024) further underscores his commitment to professional growth and excellence in media practice.
The Future Awards Africa (@tfaafrica), often described as “Africa’s Nobel Prize for Young People,” is widely regarded as the continent’s most influential youth award platform. Each year, it celebrates outstanding young Africans driving change across governance, entrepreneurship, technology, media, and the creative industries.
Daniel’s nomination reflects his ongoing mission to elevate broadcasting standards and inspire the next generation of storytellers to blend creativity with impact.
