The University of Lagos recently hosted a five-day Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Business Certification Programme that drew thousands of students, business leaders, and industry stakeholders for a dynamic celebration of entrepreneurship, innovation, and enterprise development.
The absolute highlight of the programme? Keynote sessions and fireside chats led by Yemi Edun, Managing Director of Daniel Ford International, who inspired over 13,000 fresh students.
Speaking on the theme: “Creativity, Innovation and the Desire to Own an Enterprise,” Edun encouraged students to foster discipline, integrity, and strong skill development for success in entrepreneurship. He highlighted the importance of university habits in shaping the ability to establish sustainable businesses and compete on a global scale. The University auditorium hosted a week-long programme of engaging lectures, interactive discussions, and fireside conversations centered around entrepreneurship, leadership, and innovation.

Students were encouraged to think beyond traditional career paths and begin developing the mindset and skills required to create and lead enterprises. In recognition of its commitment to youth empowerment and entrepreneurial development, Daniel Ford International was honoured by the management of University of Lagos with the Champions Award, acknowledging the company’s role as a formidable partner in nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders through the EIBIC Initiative.

Special recognition was also given to Olugbesoye Olujimi, who received honours both in her personal capacity and on behalf of Emadeb Energy Services Limited.
The EIBIC programme continues to expand its impact by equipping thousands of students with the entrepreneurial mindset needed to transform ideas into enterprises.

With participation from over 13,000 students this year, the initiative reinforces the university’s commitment to preparing graduates who are not only job seekers but job creators.
For Daniel Ford International, the engagement reflects its broader mission to support youth development, enterprise cre ation, and innovation across Nigeria.
As the programme concluded, one message resonated clearly throughout the auditorium: the future of enterprise is already being built on university campuses.
