Nigerian Afro-fusion artist, singer, and songwriter, Emarshal is looking to start 2021 on a high note with the release of new single ‘Oyim’ under his new record label imprint Dream Cruiz Records.
Emarshal, real name Emmanuel kalu is an undeniable talent from Abia state, Aba Nigeria but birthed in Ajegunle, Lagos state with couple of records to his name in the past.
Oyim is a sonic blend of Afro-soul and mainstream sound with catchy percussive beat and vibrant keys. drawing listeners in from its opening undelaying guitar plays over playful lyrics ‘ Nwa mfuru na aba’ in a clear soothing tones that all but demands you move along with the mid-temp beat produced by Candelbeat.
The song’s title is perfectly indicative of what is inside a gooey love song that celebrates romantic affection in all its glory. This artistic body of work is a heart-warming rendition of solemn and beautiful love song made in dedication to every beautiful person that has ever longed for and been in love.
For a debut, it is incredibly compelling as the sweet-voiced singer seamlessly showcased adept penmanship and vocal ability throughout the song over a mixed Igbo language and pidgin on different chorus and verses.
