Guinness World Record: Hilda Baci completes 100 hours cooking record

Nigerian chef, Hilda Bassey Effiong popularly known as Hilda Baci, has set a new Guinness World Record for the longest cooking hours.

Hilda earlier surpassed the previous record set by Lata Tondon, an Indian chef, in 2019. Lata Tondon cooked for 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 seconds to break the previous title.

Hilda began cooking on Thursday and continued through to Monday, whipping up 55 recipes and more than 100 meals in a whopping 100-hour stint.

However, Hilda set a new record at 8 p.m. on Monday, May 15, 2023.

She cooked for 100 hours to set the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking hours by an individual.

Hilda explained she was taking on the challenge to highlight Nigerian cuisine.

Baci is not new to cooking competitions, she was a participant in the maiden edition of the Jollof Face-off Competition in 2021. The talented chef made Nigeria proud by winning the competition and walking away with a grand prize of $5000.
