WizKid is set to release his new album “Made In Lagos.”
Following last year’s hit singles “Joro” and “Ghetto Love” comes the new drop “Smile,” which features H.E.R. and makes for the perfect summer date night or wedding vibe:
“You’re just a blessing to me, I thank baba God for your life, hol on, my baby, showed me what I couldn’t see/
My love for you could never go blind, I wanna be by your side, tell me when you need me baby, I go dey your side/
Kiss you every morning baby, I go hold you tight oh, treat you like no other, everyday na Valentine oh/
Omoge mi forever, be my paradise, honey, you’re my sugar, you dey sweet like Caroline, baby you’re my prisoner, I go give you all my time oh…/”
Made In Lagos will act as WizKid’s fourth studio LP and might be the most anticipated album of the Nigerian star’s career, especially given its delays over the past several months.
In a past interview with Vanguard, WizKid spoke on the global expansion and success of the AfroBeats genre in recent years:
“First, I would like to say that when we started the music business, I never really thought we would make the hits we are making right now. Things have changed immensely in the last couple of years. Right now, the social media is one of the biggest platforms that have helped musicians to get across to the world generally. … It has always been my goal when I started making music to try as much as possible to touch people’s lives in many ways. It is easy to spot a kid; sign one, two or three artistes. But there are a million kids out there across Africa with a lot of talent.”
