Legendary boxer Muhammad Ali will, three years after he passed, get an airport named after him.
His hometown, Louisville, will be naming the Louisville International Airport after Ali.
CNN reports that the decision was made after a vote on a recommendation by a working group that’s been studying the renaming for over a year.
The airport will be known as the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport. Jim Welch, chairman of the Airport Authority Board, said:
“This tells the world how proud we are to associate ‘The Greatest’ with not only our great city, but also our great airport”.
