The organizers of West Africa’s most inclusive all youth awards, Moreklue All Youth African Awards, popularly known as MAYA AWARDS AFRICA have unveiled plans for the 2020 edition.
Keeping in line with the safety guidelines of the government at all levels, as the world struggles to defeat the Corona Virus pandemic, the platform which annually records an average attendance of over 1,500 guests have decided to hold back on the carnival like celebrations it is well known for, this year.
However, in a bid to block against this setback, this year’s edition will be broadcasted via Nigeria’s number one family entertainment TV channel, WAP TV, as the TV channel has agreed to a broadcast partnership with the awards’ platform.
The event will transmit on the WAP TV Channel which airs on DSTV, GOTV, STARTIMES and PLAY TV network while global audience can stream live on YouTube, Facebook Live and IG Live via the MAYA official pages while the TV broadcast is live.
The Founder/CEO of the MoreKlue Blueprint Company, owners of MAYA AWARDS AFRICA, Ademola Titilopemi Ajibola stated that “since the outbreak of the novel Corona Virus, the question I have repeatedly been asked is what is our plan for MAYA this year? As a brand that has never skipped a year, we had to go back to the drawing board and check how best we can serve our audience with quality content and the usual exciting thrills our platform has offered since 2014”. He stated.
“This year, we decided to celebrate 60 people and brands that kept working (there was a bit of space here)* while the world locked down and made huge sacrifices to keep the nation alive while the virus was avaging the nation and the world at large. The celebration official 60 is symbolic as it is to celebrate our dear country, Nigeria at 60 and we are very excited that Wale Adenuga Productions TV, bought into our vision by coming into broadcast partnership with us”.
“Come Sunday, November 15th, our winners, honorary awardees, supporters and friends of the awardees all just need to be at the comfort of their homes and tune in to join the broadcast. We have secured the services of a live music band to entertain our audience with good music and there will be comic performances from few top rated comedians to keep our audience entertained for the hours of transmission”, he concluded.
The awards event will be hosted by TV Face, FEMI DANIELS and actress, OMOTUNDE SHOGUNLE, popularly known as MoSogunle and will be shown across Nigeria and beyond on DSTV Channel 262, GOTV Channel 102, STARTIMES 116, PLAY TV Channel 275 and Digital Media Channels to a target 4 million audience.
