JOE BIDEN DEFEATS DONALD TRUMP, SET TO BECOME 46TH US PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

Democratic candidate, Joe Biden has been declared as the winner of the United States presidential election by CNN, NBC, the BBC and Associated Press.

The former vice president defeated incumbent president, Donald Trump, who has called the integrity of the election into question.

Biden’s victory was projected on Saturday, November 7, 2020, after crossing over the required 270 electoral votes with a dramatic win in Pennsylvania.

The 77-year-old will become America’s oldest president when he is inaugurated next year.

In reaction to the projected victory, Biden said in a short statement he’s honoured to have been elected to lead the country.

“The work ahead of us will be hard, but I promise you this: I will be a President for all Americans — whether you voted for me or not.”

The 77-year-old returns to the White House only four years after he completed a two-term run as vice president to Barack Obama.

He’ll become America’s oldest president when he is inaugurated in January when he’ll already be 78.

Senator Kamala Harris, Biden’s running mate, will become America’s first female vice president, as well as the first black and Asian woman to occupy the office.

Harris, 56, posted a short clip of her conversation with Biden on her Twitter account, shortly after Saturday’s victory projection.

“We did it,” she said.
