Rising Afro-fusion sensation, Nuzzi stars on the cover of the latest digital edition of SIMPLE.
Born Sanusi Oluwafemi, Nuzzi hails from the historic city of Ile Ife in Osun State. Raised in a household pulsating with the melodies of Ebenezer Obey, music coursed through his veins from a tender age. His upbringing, steeped in the rich cultural tapestry of Nigeria, laid the foundation for his musical odyssey.
Nuzzi talked about his early foray into music as early as 14, he embarked on a journey that would see him evolve from a budding artist to a multifaceted force in the industry. He talked about drawing inspiration from his “surroundings and the iconic sounds of greats like Ebenezer Obey,” which helped hone his craft.
But it was not until he embraced the role of a music producer that he truly found his voice. Infusing elements of Afro-Fusion, conscious dance-hall, Afrobeats, and hip-hop, Nuzzi sculpted a sound that was uniquely his own. His music reflected his eclectic influences, a symphony of culture, rhythm, and soul.
With the release of his EP titled “Rose and Diamonds,” Nuzzi hopes to pull in listeners into his “realm of introspection and self-discovery.” “The genesis of this project can be traced back to a moment of inspiration in the Benin Republic, where the seeds of creativity took root,” he narrates. From the ethereal melodies of “Alright” to the stirring resonance of “Cover Me,” each track is a testament to Nuzzi’s artistic evolution.
