MZ KISS – THE QUEEN STOMPS WITH BRAAA!

How would you describe what you do for a living?

I am an Art that expresses itself through Music. I am an Entertainer that brings good sounds to your ears and make your legs move. I am a performer I represent every youth out there chasing their dreams.

Take us back to your journey, how challenging has it been?

It wasn’t easy, at first people thought I was crazy and that a female rapper wouldn’t hold on for this long, some didn’t believed in me, but I’m glad the brand is proving the doubters wrong, I’m not where I want to be but the brand is gradually progressing.

First being a female artiste in this part of the world is very challenging, practically you have to work 3 times harder than the male counterparts this is because there’s this certain believe that women should only be in the kitchen. As such you don’t get the desired accolades, some doors don’t open easily. It’s a good feeling the females in the industry are now winning as well.

How has your brand has evolved over the years?

Yes!!! I am no longer where I was few years’ back and the brand Mz Kiss is getting bigger and better. It’s a global thing now unlike when it started.

You write lyrics for your own rap. How did you develop this skill?

Take us to your album, should we expect a release at the end of this year?

I feel I have a lot more to give to my fans, although I have all the right sound but I don’t want to rush it, I want to give my ‘Fansmily’ the best they would never forget then when the demand gets high we’ll definitely drop an album.

What would be your dream collaboration?

Jay Z and Mz Kiss.

Which is that one social issue, you would want to voice through your music?

Addressing societal issues through my music is not a new thing; I’m always trying to do that at the slightest opportunity I get.

Just recently during the 2019 general election, I dropped a material which addressed different social vices such as Child Abuse, Electoral thuggery, Drug Abuse to mention but a few.

What is your honest opinion about the Nigeria Music Industry and things you hope need to change for good?

The Nigeria Music industry is rapidly growing especially based on the fact that the world is paying attention to our sound, however piracy is one of the major thing slowing us down. It’s high time artists start to reap from their Labor we have to cultivate the buying culture so the content creator can make money from their hard work.
